Use this information to make an informed choice and enjoy your riding experience to the fullest.
To take the measurements of the boots in the right way it is necessary first to wear riding breeches and socks that are usually worn for riding. Equip yourself with a tailor's centimeter and, if possible, be in the company of someone who can help take the measurements. The measurement is taken while standing, without shoes and with legs stretched and slightly apart. The foot numbering of all Franceschini Stivali riding products follows the normal European numbering and for each foot number there correspond to different leg sizes. After choosing the foot size, the necessary measurements are the circumference of the calf at the widest point, the circumference of the entrance (where the boot or gaiter closes) and the height from the ground. This measurement corresponds to the height of the boot (or gaiter), excluding heels.
Riding boots should be cleaned and polished every week or better, after each use.
It is good practice to observe the following instructions:
– Remove the most visible dirt with a soft brush, focusing on the areas near the sole and heel.
– Use a damp sponge and remove any traces of dust and mud, cleaning even the most hidden parts thoroughly.
– Once the boot dry, apply the polish with a brush only along the external side, to prevent the internal part from becoming too slippery, compromising the grip of the leg in the saddle areas.
– Remove any residue, dust or dirt from the zip using the relevant soft brush.
Please note that leather needs to stay clean and hydrated. It is important thus to use a good polish that makes the boots soft, elastic, water-repellent and malleable. This process will also promote correct conservation.
Lastly, it is recommended using internal inflatables shapes which prevent the formation of creases on the leg, as well as a good boot bag for proper storage.
Franceschini Stivali uses only carefully selected leather based on the type of boot and the discipline practiced.
Show jumping: soft nappa leather or smooth calfskin, as well as buffalo leather to ensure softness and grip and better sporting practice. The same materials are also used for the production of paddock boots and gaiters.
Dressage: heavier calfskin. Featuring an internal reinforcement between the lining and the leather and a whalebone on the back to keep the shaft straight.
The manufacturing of Franceschini boots takes place entirely in Italy, more precisely in the Marche region, the most prestigious national footwear district.
